  • £14 per hour

  • 30 hours per week (averaged over the year)

  • Shifts typically 1pm – 7/8pm, 4 days per week

  • Holiday: 20 days per year + bank holidays + Christmas off

We’re looking for a Chef Manager to take the lead in this kitchen, delivering delicious, cost-effective meals for residential groups and events. You’ll focus on streamlining the menu to reduce waste while maintaining great quality, supported by an assistant cook.

You’ll mainly be catering for children’s residentials, adult courses, and fundraising events, with group sizes varying from 15 to 70 guests. The busiest period is February to July, and while some weeks will be quieter, you’ll be paid a consistent 30-hour week across the year.

The long term goal is to grow weekend bookings, so weekend availability is essential.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Menu Planning & Cost Control: You’ll simplify the offering — think big, hearty dishes (lasagnes, pies, etc.) with adaptations for dietary needs— focusing on reducing waste and managing food costs effectively.

  • Kitchen Leadership: You’ll oversee the kitchen, ensuring smooth service, supporting the assistant cook, and maintaining high hygiene standards.

  • Flexibility: While most work is during weekdays, weekend events are increasing, so you need to be happy with weekend shifts.

  • Passion for Cooking: Someone who enjoys making great food that suits large groups and a variety of dietary needs.

What's On Offer:

  • A stable, year-round salary (even when hours fluctuate)

  • A supportive, friendly team

  • Time off over Christmas and a generous holiday allowance

  • The opportunity to be part of an exciting growth phase, with increasing adult and weekend bookings
