General Manager, Bury St Edmunds £40'000 - £45'000 OTE

Bread Hospitality has partnered with an amazing 16th century pub set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, just a stone’s throw from the centre of Bury St Edmunds. We are seeking an ambitious and experienced General Manager to lead this amazing business and well renowned business. The Pub was recently restored and expanded creating a very modern country pub, kitchen, and garden.


We are looking for an exceptional candidate with a high level of pub or restaurant management experience with an unrivalled passion for food, drink and delivering great service.


As General Manager you will be required to deliver amazing customer service whilst building and maintaining a strong rapport with both staff and guests. You will have a real eye for detail and know how to lead by example. You will also have a proven track record of being able to think on your feet and using your own initiative to add something special.


The Responsibilities -

  • Day to Day Management of lunch, and dinner services.

  • Maintaining the highest levels of customer service.

  • Full financial accountability on the P&L

  • Working towards financial and operational targets.

  • Responsible for the Health and Safety, Fire Safety and Food Hygiene compliance

  • Creating, Implementing, and managing all standard operating procedures.

  • Working with the Head Chef to continually improve the product, performance, and profitability of the business.

The Person -

  • Strong people management, development, and mentorship skills

  • Have a minimum of two years’ experience at General Management level or equivalent within the pub/restaurant trade.

  • Lead by example in a hands-on role.

  • Be able to bring fresh ideas and concepts to the table.

The Perks –

  • £40K - £45K OTE

  • Bonus + Profit Share
